A Change To the Way I Blog
When I started blogging, I wrote about anything and everything that I was interested in – which is why a recipe for low fat tomato soup still sometimes comes up on the similar posts thumbnails at the bottom of the page!
Then I narrowed my field to anything concerning Christianity, but in particular Christian living. Recently the amount I’ve blogged has decreased to one post a week because I am limited on time, and I have only really been writing about what God is teaching me – which can take quite a bit of thinking about as well as courage to share.
Now I feel like I want to add more of what God has taught me so far in my Christian life, not just what He is teaching me right now. Previously I have written blog posts like that, for instance ‘How I Learned to Forgive’, but less more recently as I have found it hard to have enough time to think of things to write about!
I would also like to make this blog more of a place to equip Christians, so have decided to try to write regularly on topics that would help people, but also smaller posts so that I have the time to do them.
My goal is to have a schedule of different kinds of things that come up regularly. While not all of them will minister to everyone, hopefully some of them will be helpful! And by having a schedule it will make it easier for me to keep writing at a season in my life when I have limited mental space to think of new titles.
My rough plan is this:
Monday – A Verse to Memorise
Tuesday – Sermon Snippets
Wednesday – Living the Life
Thursday – Tips for Growth
Friday – Recommended Resources
Saturday – What God is Teaching Me
Sunday – For the Searching
I doubt I will manage to get all of these done every week, but I’m hoping that having a plan will mean I get more out than before. If you have any other ideas of what I should write about please let me know in the comments!
Dear Rhoda. What a good idea! I think this is going to work out wonderfully, and I am really looking forward to it. Every day will be interesting to read, I guess, by looking at your plan.
Good luck, and know that I am so pleased that I can read your blog.
Have a nice holiday near Zwolle. It is quite beautiful there.
Kind regards,
Annette
Thank you Annette! It is beautiful here, I am starting to get used to all the flat landscape with so much sky, and today at an annual market I had an appelbol which was really good 🙂
Dear Rhoda, I sympathise with both the search for structure and thhe search for time! I like the look of your proposed schedule though I agree that posting daily will be a huge challenge. I look forward to reading your posts and have found them helpful and inspiring.
Juliet
Thank you Juliet, yes I’m probably aiming way too high and don’t think I will manage all those every week! But at least it’s something to aim for 🙂 Thanks for your encouragement.
I just added this feed to my bookmarks. I have to say, I very much enjoy reading your blogs. Thanks!
